Start with the customer sentence

Complete this sentence: “Customers call us when they need ___.” The domain should reinforce the answer. If you cannot explain the relationship in one sentence, the name may create more marketing work than it saves.

A category-specific domain is efficient when the business is focused. An umbrella brand leaves more room to expand but requires customers to learn what it means. Neither is universally better. A new transformer brokerage and a multi-technology development company are solving different naming problems.

Screen names in five minutes

Say it aloud, type it from memory, view it in a quotation header, put a realistic employee email address in front of it, and ask what business it suggests. Check the resulting full address for accidental word collisions. Capitals such as SwitchgearBroker.com improve visual reading; the domain itself is case-insensitive.

Avoid paying merely for shortness. Clear words can be more useful than a short string that fails the radio test. Hyphens and numbers are not forbidden, but each can add an instruction that the person making a referral must remember.

Compare the acquisition with the rollout

The purchase price is only one line. Include email migration, document updates, signage, redirects and staff time if the company is established. For a new business, securing the right address before printing materials can avoid those replacement costs.

Buy a name that you can use now. A portfolio of speculative alternatives consumes attention and renewal expense. One primary domain, a clear website and a consistent email identity usually provide a cleaner customer experience than several half-built sites.

Use the catalog to make a shortlist

The domain table lets you compare names, asking prices, categories and intended uses on one screen. Add several names to a request if you want to discuss the fit or a group purchase. Unpriced names remain visible because an unpublished price is not the same as an unavailable name.

Nova names are in a separate development and partnership group. They are not part of the sale inventory. That separation keeps a technology collaboration inquiry from being mistaken for an offer to buy the brand.
