A project that grows in stages can benefit from generation organized into repeatable blocks. The Cummins-powered 2 MW pod concept offered through EnergyEquipment.com combines two 1 MW generator sets in a 40-foot high-cube container, with a proposed continuous package rating of 2,000 kW, 480Y/277 V, three-phase, 60 Hz.

This is manufactured-to-order equipment. The listing describes a product configuration and a supplier-reported production program, not identified serial-numbered pods already in stock. Buyers should obtain a current allocation and a project-specific technical proposal before treating the program as committed capacity.

What is inside the proposed package?

The supplied proposal identifies Cummins K50N-G10S natural-gas engines, Stamford S6L1D-F42 alternators, DeepSea DSE8610 MKII controls, breakers and a paralleling cabinet. Proposed auxiliaries include gas trains, cooling, silencing, SCR aftertreatment, fire and gas detection, batteries and operating documentation.

Component ratings must not be added to inflate the delivered output. The proposal lists 1,100 kW of engine power per engine and 1,050 kW per alternator at the stated conditions, while the complete two-set pod is offered at 2,000 kW continuous. Net output at the agreed delivery point, auxiliary consumption and ambient or fuel limitations should be established by approved documentation and acceptance tests.

Delivery targets need an allocation

The September 2026 supplier summary describes an initial target of 50 pods in 90 days from signed agreement and initial payment, followed by a further 50 pods per 30 days. At 2 MW per pod, the first tranche represents 100 MW of proposed package capacity.

Those figures are seller-reported production and delivery targets. They do not establish stock, an available allocation today or an unconditional date. Confirm engineering release, factory capacity, factory acceptance testing, shipping, the actual DDP delivery point and the effect of any modifications. A delivered pod is not necessarily an installed and permitted power plant.

Fuel and site interfaces are early decisions

The proposal calls for pipeline-quality natural gas with a minimum methane number of 80 and a stated inlet-pressure range of 10–35 kPa at the identified sensor housing. Obtain a gas analysis and an interface specification for the actual project. Available utility pressure, pressure variation, treatment and any compression needs can affect the site design.

The container envelope is approximately 12.192 × 2.438 × 2.896 m. Horizontal radiators are described as separately transported components, so the operating footprint is larger than the container alone. Confirm cooling airflow, service access, exhaust routing, noise, gas separation distances and the final lifting and transport plan.

Two sets are not automatically N+1 at 2 MW

Two 1 MW sets can provide operating flexibility. But a pod serving a full 2 MW load has no full-load redundancy if either set is unavailable. Establish the critical load, available derated output, required reserve and maintenance strategy. Any N+1 claim must be based on a complete capacity and reliability design, including shared auxiliaries and electrical distribution.

Site transformers, switchgear, protection, utility approval, foundations and grid connection are separate unless explicitly included. Where multiple pods will operate together, define plant-level control, synchronization, load sharing, fault response and acceptance responsibilities.

Put warranty and emissions into the contract

The supplier proposes a 24-month, unlimited-operating-hour warranty covering listed systems. Confirm the issuer, start date, exclusions, response arrangements, U.S. service capability and commissioning obligations. A Cummins-powered package does not by itself establish a separate Cummins OEM warranty on the complete container or an EnergyEquipment.com warranty.

SCR appears in the proposed scope, but a listed engine emissions figure is not a verified post-SCR stack guarantee or a site permit. Agree fuel, load and ambient test conditions and the applicable permitting path before release.
