The proposed pod combines two 1 MW natural-gas generator sets in a 40-foot high-cube container. The supplier’s stated package rating is 2,000 kW continuous, 480Y/277 V, three-phase, 60 Hz. It is a made-to-order program, so the next decision is whether a written allocation and technical proposal meet your project.

Specify the package, not just the engine
The September 2026 proposal identifies Cummins K50N-G10S engines, Stamford S6L1D-F42 alternators and DeepSea DSE8610 MKII controls. The described scope includes breakers and paralleling equipment, gas trains, cooling, silencing, SCR, fire and gas detection and operating documentation.
The engine and alternator component ratings must not be added together or substituted for the offered 2 MW package rating. Ask for net output at the agreed delivery point, auxiliary consumption and the fuel and ambient conditions that apply to the guarantee.
Translate production targets into your delivery commitment
The current planning target is 3–4 months to the U.S. Port of Houston from agreed contract, initial payment and production allocation. Origin is Asia. Reported recurring capacity is 50 two-megawatt pods per month, or 100 MW/month. That describes a supplier production program, not verified stock or capacity reserved for a particular buyer.
A project proposal should state the engineering-release date, allocated production, factory acceptance test, shipping terms and actual delivery destination. It should also identify the effect of customizations. Delivery of a container does not complete foundations, utility approval, gas connection or commissioning.
Resolve the interfaces early
The proposal calls for pipeline-quality gas, minimum methane number 80 and an inlet-pressure range of 10–35 kPa at the stated sensor housing. Provide a gas analysis and confirm the project’s interface specification. Available utility pressure alone does not establish the required pressure at the equipment under full load.
The separately transported horizontal radiators need operating space beyond the container footprint. Cooling airflow, service access, exhaust routing, noise and site safety clearances belong in the layout review.
Two 1 MW sets do not provide full 2 MW output after one set trips. Redundancy must be designed around the critical load, derated capacity and shared systems, including gas and electrical distribution.
Name the warranty counterparty
The proposal describes a 24-month unlimited-operating-hour supplier warranty. Confirm the issuer, start date, exclusions, service response and commissioning requirements. “Cummins-powered” does not establish an OEM warranty on the complete pod. Likewise, SCR in a scope list is not a site permit or an agreed stack-emissions guarantee.
